Susan Rubio) which will prioritize child safety during custody hearings in the family court system.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u201cIt is an honor to pledge support for this important law in remembrance of\u00a0Piqui, an innocent child whose life was tragically cut short\u00a0when he was\u00a0murdered by his father during a custody dispute\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Supervisor Kathryn Barger<\/strong>. \u201cI am hopeful that SB 616 will pass the State Legislature\u00a0so that family law judges and staff can benefit from proposed resources and trainings\u00a0that will\u00a0help\u00a0identify trauma to young children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">SB 616, known as \u201cPiqui\u2019s\u00a0Law,\u201d\u00a0is\u00a0based on the tragic murder of 5-year old \u201cPiqui\u201d by his father in 2017.
