Alzheimer\u2019s Disease will be a public health crisis in the future without a better understanding of how to prevent and treat this condition and\u00a0disproportionately impacts African Americans. It is two times more common among African American individuals compared to others.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Much of how we know about Alzheimer’s\u00a0comes from studying the donated brains of individuals who wish to help find a cure for the disease. African Americans have traditionally participated in brain donation for Alzheimer\u2019s research at very low rates, despite high rates of the disease in the community.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This\u00a0survey<\/a>\u00a0seeks to understand thoughts and opinions about brain donation among members of the African American community.<\/div>\n
