Blinken, Secretary of State<\/p>\n<p>The United Nations, the\u00a0Republic of\u00a0Turkey, Ukraine, and Russia\u00a0have\u00a0committed\u00a0to a plan for resuming Ukrainian exports through the Black Sea and getting millions of tons of Ukrainian\u00a0grain to those who need it around the world.\u00a0The United States welcomes this\u00a0deal\u00a0and commends UN Secretary-General Guterres and Turkish President\u00a0Erdo\u011fan\u00a0for their committed\u00a0diplomatic efforts to mediate these discussions. Today\u2019s UN-brokered\u00a0deal\u00a0is a positive step towards addressing the far-reaching impacts of Russia\u2019s war. The international community must now hold Russia accountable for this deal, ending its\u00a0effective\u00a0blockade of Ukraine\u2019s ports and\u00a0ensuring\u00a0Ukrainian\u00a0<wbr \/>agricultural goods \u2014 including\u00a0grain, oilseeds, and sunflower oil \u2014 reach world markets.<\/p>\n<p>Russia has weaponized food\u00a0since the beginning of\u00a0this crisis. An end to Russia\u2019s\u00a0blockade\u00a0of Ukraine\u2019s agricultural exports through the Black Sea is, therefore, only one of the many steps Russia needs to take to ensure that food from Ukraine makes it to global markets.
