U.S. News & World Report Names Rancho Los Amigos Among Best for 2022-2023 in Rehabilitation across the nation; Rancho Los Amigos Delivers Outstanding Care to LA County\u2019s Most Vulnerable Including the Uninsured and Underinsured<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

July 26, 2022<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center, part of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, has been recognized as a 2022-2023 Best Hospital for Rehabilitation by U.S. News & World Report.<\/p>\n

The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 33rd year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive quality care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cBeing recognized as one of the best rehabilitation centers in the nation, reflects the amazing work of our staff and their dedication to delivering the highest quality of care to all patients regardless of their ability to pay,\u201d said Dr. Aries Limbaga, CEO of Rancho Los Amigos.<\/p>\n

Rancho Los Amigos specializes in brain, neurology, orthopedic, pediatric, spine injury, and stroke rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cRancho is a key part of our network of public hospitals and clinics in LA County and this national recognition spotlights its commitment to deliver innovative and compassionate services to anyone who comes through our doors\u201d said Dr. Christina Ghaly, Director of LA County\u2019s Department of Health Services. \u201cThe fact that Rancho continued to deliver extraordinary care for patients with life-changing injuries amidst a pandemic and stepped up when LA County was overwhelmed should not be overlooked.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although primarily known for acute rehabilitation, Rancho converted units to care for Covid-19 patients during the height of the pandemic. This was particularly vital during Covid surges, when other LA County hospitals were at capacity.<\/p>\n

\u201cRancho came to national recognition during the 1950s, when the polio pandemic struck,\u201d Dr. Limbaga said. \u201cTo see all of our clinicians, many who specialize in rehabilitation medicine, quickly transition to Covid-19 care was incredible. I think it really speaks to Rancho\u2019s intrinsic commitment to LA County: we serve everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the 2022-2023 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. In the specialty area of rehabilitation, Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center was ranked #19 nationally among more than 1000 rehabilitation hospitals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hospitals named to the U.S. News Honor Roll excel across numerous specialties and service lines,\u201d said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News.\u00a0 \u201cWhen patients and their medical professionals are considering their options for care, the rankings are designed to help them identify hospitals that are superior in the kind of care they may need.\u201d<\/p>\n

U.S. News evaluated each hospital\u2019s performance using a variety of measures, such as survival rates, complication rates, patient experience, and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals\u00a0methodology<\/a>\u00a0factors in data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, American Hospital Association, professional organizations, and medical specialists.<\/p>\n
