{"id":53476,"date":"2022-10-14T14:57:40","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T21:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=53476"},"modified":"2022-10-14T14:57:40","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T21:57:40","slug":"doj-asks-appeals-court-to-throw-out-appointment-of-trump-special-master","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=53476","title":{"rendered":"DOJ asks appeals court to throw out appointment of Trump special master"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Justice Department on Friday argued that an appeals court should overturn the ruling appointing a special master to review the more than 10,000 documents seized by the FBI during an August search of former President Trump\u2019s home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a filing before the 11th Circuit, the Department of Justice (DOJ) picks apart a lower court\u2019s ruling in favor of Trump as well as the former president\u2019s argument that he should be afforded a third party to review the evidence collected at Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe uncontested record demonstrates that the search was conducted in full accordance with a judicially authorized warrant, and there has been no violation of Plaintiff\u2019s rights \u2014 let alone a \u2018callous disregard\u2019 for them.
