We know she will fight for renters\u2019 rights on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, where she will be the only Supervisor who is a renter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Santa Monicans for Renters\u2019 Rights was formed in 1978 in response to the 1970s real estate boom that devastated Santa Monica communities. They have since been dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the unique quality of life for all residents in the city. SMRR supports and defends local rent control laws and runs campaigns to elect progressive candidates to local offices, all while advocating for responsible growth in Santa Monica.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m grateful to have the support of the members of Santa Monicans for Renters\u2019 Rights,\u201d\u00a0<strong>said Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath.<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cAs a renter myself, I will be the only renter on the LA County Board of Supervisors at a time when many renters live with uncertainty about the affordability of their housing.
