The United States continues to support Ukraine\u00a0with additional military assistance to help\u00a0defend itself, including from the Kremlin\u2019s\u00a0relentless attacks on\u00a0Ukraine\u2019s\u00a0critical energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Pursuant to a delegation of authority from the President, today I am authorizing our twenty-sixth\u00a0drawdown of U.S. arms and equipment for Ukraine since August 2021.\u00a0This $400\u00a0million drawdown includes additional arms, munitions, and\u00a0air defense\u00a0equipment from U.S. Department of Defense inventories.\u00a0\u00a0This drawdown will bring the total U.S. military assistance for Ukraine to an unprecedented level of\u00a0approximately\u00a0$19.7 billion, since the beginning of the\u00a0Administration.<\/p>\n

The United States will continue to stand with more than\u00a040 allies and partners in support of the people of Ukraine as they defend their freedom and independence with extraordinary courage and boundless determination.\u00a0 The\u00a0artillery\u00a0ammunition, precision fires,\u00a0air\u00a0defense missiles,\u00a0and\u00a0tactical\u00a0vehicles\u00a0that\u00a0we are providing\u00a0will\u00a0best serve Ukraine on the battlefield.\u00a0 We are joined\u00a0in our efforts by France and the UK,\u00a0including the\u00a0\u00a350 million\u00a0in air defense systems offered\u00a0by\u00a0UK Prime Minister Sunak\u00a0during\u00a0his recent visit to Kyiv, and\u00a0we note\u00a0Sweden\u2019s recent air defense commitment valued at nearly $300 million.<\/p>\n

We will continue to support Ukraine\u00a0for as long as it takes,\u00a0so it can\u00a0continue to\u00a0defend itself and be in the strongest possible position at the negotiating table when the time comes.<\/p>\n
