Universal City\/Los Angeles, CA (LAPost\/December 14, 2022)<\/strong> – The Consulate-General of the People\u2019s Republic of China in Los Angeles held farewell reception for Consul General Ping Zhang at Universal Hilton on December 14, 2022, attended by Hon. California State Assembly member Mike Fang, Hon. Tong Ding mayor of city of San Gabriel, as well as about 300 representatives from local governments, business,\u00a0 Chinese communities and Chinese students.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consul General Zhang Ping<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Consul General Zhang Ping reviewed the experience of visiting various places in the consular district, participating in various activities, and having extensive contacts and in-depth exchanges with people from all walks of life in the past five years as the consul general in Los Angeles. The diversity of American culture, the vitality of society, the goodwill of the people, and the breadth and depth of exchanges and cooperation between the consular district and China. The sincere friendship towards the Chinese people and the support and expectations for Sino-US relations from all walks of life in the consular district are encouraging, adding motivation to our work and strengthening our confidence in Sino-US relations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consul General Zhang said that local exchanges and cooperation are the foundation of Sino-US relations, with huge potential for development and promising prospects. We must firmly believe in the friendship between China and the United States, strive to maintain a good pattern of relations between the consular district and China, continue to promote exchanges and cooperation between the consular district and China, continue to consolidate and expand the achievements of bilateral cooperation, better benefit the two peoples, and promote Sino-US relations Return to the right track of healthy and stable development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consul General Zhang Ping thanked friends in the consular district for their support to the Consulate General and his own work and for their positive contributions to Sino-US relations and local cooperation. He hoped that friends from in the consular district would continue to support the successor Consul General, China-US local exchanges and cooperation will get new and greater development.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the five years since he took office, Consul General Zhang Ping has traveled all over the states in the southwestern region of the United States, visited and met with dignitaries, and delivered speeches in various colleges and universities. <\/span><\/p>\n

He is modest, elegant and firm. During the three-hour reception that day, after the speech session was over, Consul General Zhang Ping took photos with the overseas Chinese who enthusiastically asked for a group photo, and said goodbye cordially.<\/span><\/p>\n
