San Diego, (January 11th 2023) <\/em><\/strong>— On Friday January 6th, Kneron received the Corporate Innovation Leadership Award from the Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc) at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers\u2019 (IEEE) 41st International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE), an event adjunct to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held annually in Las Vegas. Concurrently, Frank Chang, Kneron co-founder and UCLA professor, is also set to receive the IEEE James Maxwell Medal at an award ceremony that will take place in May.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2021, Kneron has received a series of awards from the IEEE that continually recognize the academic and commercial value of the company\u2019s work. Straddled across industry and academia, the IEEE is an authoritative professional association for electronic and electrical engineering with the stated mission of advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whereas Kneron founders have previously received the 2021 IEEE Darlington Best Paper Award for the invention of a breakthrough neural processing unit architecture that stands at the core of the company\u2019s technology, the 2023 Corporate Innovation Leadership Award further validates the commercial impact of the architecture. According to the IEEE, the award recognises the company for its \u201coutstanding innovation and leadership in consumer technology.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the company\u2019s founding in 2015, Kneron has gone to mass production with a steadily growing roster of leading global players across the verticals of automotives, edge servers, security, and AIoT, a few examples of which include Quanta, Gree, Dessman, Hanwha, and renown Japanese automotive makers.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the meantime, Kneron co-founder Professor Frank Chang received the James Maxwell Medal for further technical breakthroughs contributing to \u201cheterojunction device technology and CMOS System-on-Chip realizations with unprecedented reconfigurability and bandwidth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
