Led by Mickey Mouse and his pals, this daytime spectacular celebrates moments of magic from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films as they are brought to life on a grand scale with stunning floats, artistic costumes and an energetic musical score combined with beloved Disney tunes. I learned how to dance from watching Disney parades, so the fact that I got to create the music that these iconic Disney characters perform to is pretty much the most epic thing that has happened to me in my life!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em><u>Fun facts about \u2018Magic Happens\u2019<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The parade features<strong>\u00a0nine<\/strong>\u00a0floats created as\u00a0<strong>pieces of moving art<\/strong>, with their lines and aesthetic design working to tell a story along the parade route. Alongside are\u00a0<strong>m<\/strong><strong>ore than 90\u00a0<\/strong>performers, and\u00a0<strong>mo<\/strong><strong>re than<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>two dozen<\/strong>\u00a0of them are Disney and Pixar characters.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Two<\/strong>\u00a0original songs add to the musical flow of the parade: the main theme, \u201cMagic Happens,\u201d and a special song for the grand finale. The finale score includes\u00a0<strong>musical nods to past Disney entertainment productions<\/strong>\u00a0that have special meaning to show director Jordan Peterson, weaving in themes from the \u201cRemember the Magic\u201d parade as well as the \u201cWishes\u201d and \u201cRemember\u2026 Dreams Come True\u201d fireworks spectaculars.<\/li>\n<li>The parade\u2019s costume design\u00a0<strong>draws inspiration directly from modern runways<\/strong>, making each costume look fashion-forward, yet uniquely Disney.<\/li>\n<li>Featuring a musical score and new songs co-composed by singer-songwriter Todrick Hall, the \u201cMagic Happens\u201d soundtrack and choreography are heavily\u00a0<strong>influenced by today\u2019s pop culture<\/strong>, putting a contemporary spin on classic Disney hits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em><u>Parade highlights<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mickey Mouse leads the way, gliding along on glistening swirls of magic emanating from a giant, iridescent magical hat that stands at nearly\u00a0<strong>15\u00a0<\/strong>feet tall and features\u00a0<strong>300\u00a0<\/strong>shimmering LED lights. Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip \u2018n\u2019 Dale dance alongside eclectic and artsy performers representing aspects of magic.<\/li>\n<li>On her voyager canoe, Moana journeys forth on the crest of a towering wave, inspired by beautiful koa wood carvings and inset with animated glimpses into the magic the ocean holds. This is the\u00a0<strong>first full-scale \u201cMoana\u201d-inspired float<\/strong>\u00a0to be created for a Disney park. Maui travels along on his own magical piece of the islands with Moana\u2019s adorable pet pig, Pua.<\/li>\n<li>Guests looking closely at the flow of the ocean may spot a character cameo (or two) from Disney and Pixar\u2019s \u201cFinding Nemo.\u201d The heart of Te Fiti may also be spotted under the water.<\/li>\n<li>The percussion instruments played on the Kakamora unit that follows the \u201cMoana\u201d float are inspired by traditional Polynesian drums.<\/li>\n<li>In the first Disney Parks parade float\u00a0<strong>inspired by Disney and Pixar\u2019s \u201cCoco,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Miguel celebrates the magic that happens when he strums the guitar of Ernesto de la Cruz. This float connects the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead with a vibrant bridge decorated by more than\u00a0<strong>30,000<\/strong>\u00a0marigolds. Fantastical alebrije spirit animals join the procession, along with Miguel\u2019s dog Dant\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>From Walt Disney Animation Studios\u2019 \u201cFrozen 2,\u201d Anna and Elsa explore the mysteries of the Enchanted Forest, as\u00a0their friends Kristoff, Sven and Olaf tag along. The large snowflake behind Elsa incorporates the four elemental symbols from the film, representing water, fire, earth and wind. At nearly\u00a0<strong>39<\/strong>\u00a0feet long, the \u201cFrozen 2\u201d float is the longest in the parade.<\/li>\n<li>The regal grand finale of \u201cMagic Happens\u201d celebrates magical moments from several classic Disney stories. The start of the finale brings together\u00a0<strong>many iconic magical characters<\/strong>, including Genie, Aladdin, Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, Blue Fairy, Pinocchio and Fairy Godmother. These characters lead the way as more floats are introduced, each highlighting the moments of magic that changed the characters\u2019 lives:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>Cinderella is seen inside a grand pumpkin, just as it magically transforms into a glistening carriage to whisk her off to the ball.<\/li>\n<li>From \u201cThe Sword in the Stone,\u201d Merlin wisely leads the way for young Arthur, who finds the magic within himself as he pulls the sword from the stone, claiming his place upon the throne.<\/li>\n<li>Tiana and Naveen from \u201cThe Princess and the Frog\u201d are seen amidst a swirl of golden flowers where they share a kiss, completing their transformation back into human forms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The happily-ever-after scene from \u201cSleeping Beauty\u201d features the three Good Fairies and Prince Phillip dancing with Princess Aurora, whose gown shimmers between hues of pink and blue.
