Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will deliver on-camera\u202fremarks\u202fon the release of the 2022\u202fCountry Reports on Human Rights Practices\u202fat 11:30 a.m.\u202fon March 20, 2023,\u202fin the Press Briefing Room at the U.S. Department of State.<\/p>\n

Acting Assistant Secretary Erin Barclay of the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor will take questions in the Briefing Room immediately following Secretary Blinken\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n

Promoting\u202frespect for\u202fhuman rights and\u202fdefending\u202ffundamental freedoms is central to who we are as a country.\u202f The United States will always support those around the world struggling for human dignity and liberty.\u202f The 2022\u202fCountry Reports on Human Rights Practices\u202f\u2013 required by U.S. law to be submitted to Congress \u2014 documents the status of respect for human rights and worker rights in\u202f198\u202fcountries and territories.<\/p>\n

Instructions for embargoed access to the country reports will be sent to members of the press on March 20,\u00a02023\u00a0at 9:30 a.m. The\u00a0entire report is EMBARGOED until the start of the press briefing.\u202f The individual reports will be available to the public on\u202fwww.state.gov<\/a>\u202ffollowing the Secretary\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n
