MAY IS CALFRESH AWARENESS MONTH<\/strong><\/h1>\n

DPSS has launched activities for the May CalFresh Awareness Month (CFAM), campaign, aimed at preventing food insecurity by informing low-income residents about the benefits of CalFresh. This year\u2019s CFAM theme is\u00a0The Power of Partnership<\/em>, highlighting the work of our community-based partners. Please join us at the CFAM Community Kick-off and Resource Fair Thursday, May 4 at Amelia Mayberry Park in Whittier. This event is free and open to the public.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR HEALTHY FOOD KICKSTARTER GRANT IS MAY 5<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Kickstarter is a partnership between the County of Los Angeles and Community Services Unlimited Inc. to provide grants to qualifying organizations and businesses that want to launch or expand equitable food distribution programs serving the County\u2019s most food insecure communities.\u00a0New projects may apply for new project grants of $20,000,\u00a0and expanding projects, which may include construction, can apply for\u00a0grants of $200,000\u00a0if your business provides\u00a0affordable, fresh, and healthy food options.
