It will closely resemble the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=84b2d0547a&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3D84b2d0547a%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1691603824721000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2ZTB7OVDSTNDO7v5ySW6dO\">Zero-Emission Vehicle Market Development Strategy<\/a>\u00a0to help California collectively move forward and deliver zero-emission benefits to all Californians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCalifornia is all in on clean, renewable hydrogen \u2013 an essential aspect of how we\u2019ll power our future and cut pollution,\u201d\u00a0<strong>said Governor Newsom<\/strong>. \u201cThis strategy will lay out the pathway for building a robust hydrogen market to help us fully embrace this source of clean energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHY IT\u2019S NEEDED:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expanding the market for clean, renewable hydrogen is key to achieving California\u2019s climate goals \u2013 especially for a clean electric grid, net-zero carbon emissions, and drastically cutting air pollution.<\/li>\n<li>California is currently competing to become a federally funded\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=20efe3db17&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3D20efe3db17%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1691603824721000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0Dm6n5zQDZVH1ZBZN97dgE\">Hydrogen Hub<\/a>, a program that will leverage $8 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to establish at least four Hydrogen Hubs across the United States.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WHAT IT WILL DO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a market development strategy that is focused on leveraging hydrogen to accelerate clean energy deployment and decarbonizing our transportation and industrial sectors;<\/li>\n<li>Build on our 2022 Scoping Plan while leveraging the upcoming SB 1075\u00a0hydrogen report and ARCHES\u2019 cross sector, multi-stakeholder hydrogen market white papers;<\/li>\n<li>Developed in consultation with state agencies \u2013 including the California Air Resources Board, the California Energy Commission, and the California Public Utilities Commission \u2013 while clearly defining agencies\u2019 roles and responsibilities;<\/li>\n<li>Identify shared strategies to deliver projects, which may include new financing models, permitting modifications, and procurement initiatives;<\/li>\n<li>Engage relevant stakeholders, including local communities, to advance equity and deliver environmental and economic benefits;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure state agencies and partners continue to pull in a shared direction to accelerate the use of renewable energy throughout our economy and increase the resilience and reliability of our energy system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>HOW WE GOT HERE:<\/strong>\u00a0This initiative builds on the Governor\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=7e0e2b4f4c&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3D7e0e2b4f4c%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1691603824721000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2PN8nZp76YBs9EgbazE9bC\">executive order to create an Infrastructure Strike Team<\/a>\u00a0to streamline projects throughout the state. The Hydrogen Strategy will be one outcome of the Infrastructure Strike Team\u2019s hydrogen, clean energy, transportation, and zero-emission vehicle workgroups.
