Alhambra, November 16, 2023<\/strong> \u2013 Throughout the month of November, the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) held in-person and virtual Community Meetings for residents of the unincorporated Los Angeles County and participating agency recipients. The meetings collected input for the County\u2019s 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan and included topics relating to homelessness and economic development.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

The 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan will disperse approximately $32 million in Federal community development and housing funds, including an estimated $21 million from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, roughly $9 million from the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and approximately $2 million from the Emergency Solutions Grant Program. This funding supports projects that improve community facilities, streets, and sidewalks; provide childcare programs, services for senior citizens and individuals experiencing homelessness; homebuyer assistance and home repair programs; low-interest business loans; and graffiti removal. During the meetings, attendees were encouraged to complete the LACDA\u2019s Community Needs Survey and navigate through the Community Meeting\u2019s\u00a0website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis upcoming year marks the 50th anniversary of CDBG, a Federal Program that has been creating viable communities, decent housing, and suitable living environments, including disaster response and recovery across the nation and throughout many neighborhoods in Los Angeles County,\u201d said Emilio Salas, LACDA Executive Director. \u201cWe are excited to be able to offer our Community Meetings both in person and virtually so we can gather input from residents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Individuals who were unable to attend the Community Meetings may submit surveys until Wednesday, January 31, 2024.\u00a0Please visit our\u00a0website<\/a>\u00a0to learn how to submit the Community Needs Survey online or via U.S. Mail. Surveys are also available in six different languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Armenian.<\/p>\n
