Secretary of State Antony J.\u00a0Blinken\u00a0will deliver remarks and\u00a0sign\u00a0a\u00a0Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)\u00a0to expand\u00a0cooperation\u00a0between the Department of State and the Smithsonian Institution\u00a0at a signing ceremony\u00a0on\u00a0Tuesday,\u00a0December 19, at\u00a03:30\u00a0p.m.\u00a0ET.\u00a0\u00a0The expanded\u00a0MOU\u00a0will foster increased collaboration and reinvigorate\u00a0the\u00a0joint commitment to an inclusive range of cultural, educational, and scientific activities, programs,\u00a0and exchanges.\u00a0\u00a0Secretary of the Smithsonian Lonnie G. Bunch III will sign on behalf of the Smithsonian Institution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Secretary\u00a0Blinken\u00a0will be joined by Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs\u00a0Elizabeth M. Allen,\u00a0Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs\u00a0Lee\u00a0Satterfield,\u00a0and\u00a0Acting\u00a0Assistant Secretary of State for\u00a0Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs\u00a0Jennifer R.\u00a0Littlejohn.\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0signing ceremony\u00a0will take place at the Department of State.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Secretary\u00a0Blinken\u2019s\u00a0remarks will be open press and live streamed\u00a0on\u00a0www.state.gov<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0www.YouTube.com\/statedept<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
