The Art Troupe of the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China consists of a Chamber orchestra, a boy’s dance team, a martial arts team, an aerobics team, and a dance team. These students gave a stellar performance on Chinese culture at ISLC High School on Feb. 05.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Los Angeles, (February 5 2024\/LAPost)<\/strong> – From folk music to the traditional lion dance, students with the Art Troupe of The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China (RDFZ) gave a stellar performance during the Chinese New Year Celebration held at The International Studies Learning Center High School (ISLCHS) on February 5, days before 2024 LNY as part of annual event “Happy Spring Festival” .\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles Guo, Shaochun and Madam Wang, Wei, and Cultural Counselor Wang Taiyu were invited to participate in the cultural exchange activities that day and watched the performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

ISLC collaborated with The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles to bring the Art Troupe from Beijing to give local students a glimpse into Chinese culture. The Art Troupe includes a symphony orchestra, a boys’ dance team, a martial arts team, an aerobics team, and a Chinese folk dance team, for a total of about 70 performers led by RDFZ principle Liu Xiaohui.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consul General Ambassador Guo Shaochun showed his affinity to local middle school students in his speech. He told the ISLC students, “I’ve noticed a wonderful coincidence: the center’s logo is a dragon. Dragon is also a totem of the Chinese nation, and interestingly, the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year is the Year of the Dragon. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Consul General\u00a0 Guo Shaochun affirmed that “the RDFZ art troupe traveled nearly ten-thousand miles across the seas, and came here to share music, dance, martial arts, and more with the center and the United States. I believe our friendship will be cemented through such art exchanges.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Consul General Guo Shaochun has repeatedly demonstrated the importance he attaches to U.S.-China youth exchanges in his speeches at recent major events. He showed full sincerity and stated that he would actively implement the project of inviting 50,000 American youths to visit China announced by Xi Jinping at the APEC San Francisco meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jose Hernandez, principle of ISLCHS, said the troupe is an internationally award-winning team and is from the No. 1 ranked arts high school in China. “Their performance is very, very good. They’re just like a professional,” Jose said. “They got a lot of awards not only from China but also in the international (field).<\/span><\/div>\n

On February 5, the opening dance team’s “Snow-to the Tune of Qin Yuan Chun” brought a visual shock to nearly 400 local middle school students with its elegant Chinese folk dance postures and charm.<\/span><\/p>\n

The martial arts team that followed the performance with superb Chinese Kung Fu, the extremely difficult to wield colored silk golden dragon, and the rare to see two-color lion dance.<\/span><\/p>\n

RDFZ boys dance team’s “Fan” dance, aerobics team’s “Youth”, dance team’s “Women’s Kingdom”, Chamber orchestra’s, boy’s dance team’s “First Battle” and other programs were performed successively. The performances were performed in the dance team’s warm and cheerful atmosphere. The group dance “Torch Festival” ends the performance. The bright colors and smooth movements of each group pushed the perfect display of Chinese culture to a climax.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most of the members from the RDFZ Art Troupe are first- and second-year high school students. Their well-trained and passionate performances have deeply shocked local middle school students. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to imagine such a high-level school art in the United States. Group, I really hope to have the opportunity to go to RDFZ and see how it is trained.”<\/span><\/p>\n
