{"id":63541,"date":"2024-03-21T16:04:20","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T23:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=63541"},"modified":"2024-03-21T16:04:20","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T23:04:20","slug":"additional-funding-secured-to-address-tijuana-river-sewage-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=63541","title":{"rendered":"Additional Funding Secured to Address Tijuana River Sewage Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SACRAMENTO<\/strong> \u2013 Governor Gavin Newsom issued the following statement today on the additional $103 million in funding to address the Tijuana River sewage crisis included in the FY 2024 appropriations package:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe package announced today secures urgently needed federal funding \u2013 over $100 million more than last year \u2013 to help repair the federal South Bay plant and fix the sewage crisis that San Diego communities have dealt with for far too long.\u00a0This is important progress to address the ongoing challenge, and I thank Senators Padilla and Butler, our Congressional delegation, local and state partners, and all the leaders who have pushed for years to deliver these needed resources.
