Los Angeles, September 19, 2024 (LAPost)<\/em> <\/strong>\u2014 The \u201cChina (Zhuhai) \u2013 U.S. (Los Angeles) Economic and Trade Exchange\u201d was successfully held at the Sheraton San Gabriel Hotel in Los Angeles. The event was organized by the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Commerce, co-hosted by the Zhuhai Chamber of Import and Export and YK Law LLP, and supported by the YK Global One-Hour Legal Service Ecosystem \u00b7 Zhuhai Foreign Affairs Center. The purpose of the exchange was to build a cooperative platform between businesses in Zhuhai and Los Angeles, promote Zhuhai’s unique city features and investment environment to Southern California enterprises, and it yielded fruitful results.<\/span><\/p>\n

The exchange commenced with Mr. Zhai Ming, Deputy Director of the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Tourism, and Sports, as the host. The event attracted numerous representatives from both Zhuhai, China, and Southern California. Distinguished guests included Peng Jing, Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles; Zhang Jian, Consul at the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Consulate General; Li Chong, Vice Mayor of Zhuhai; Shen Yan, Director of the Zhuhai Bureau of Commerce; California San Gabriel Councilmember Tony Ding; former Mayor of Monterey Park, Stephen Lam, Chairman of the American Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Association; and Henry Li, Managing Partner of YK Law LLP and Executive Committee Member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s International Committee. Business leaders and representatives from trade associations from both Zhuhai and Los Angeles also attended.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zhuhai’s Vice Mayor, Li Chong, delivered the opening speech, highlighting that Zhuhai, one of China’s first four special economic zones, is a key part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Since Zhuhai and Redwood City, California, became sister cities in 1993, both sides have achieved significant success in economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation. This event aimed to further strengthen these ties, deepen cooperation opportunities, and advance economic exchanges amidst the Greater Bay Area\u2019s development, fostering mutual benefits for both regions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speeches from Tony Ding, Stephen Lam, and He Weidong followed, all emphasizing their optimistic outlook on Sino-American trade cooperation. They called for business leaders on both sides to strengthen communication, seek further business collaboration, and lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of businesses in both regions.<\/span><\/p>\n
