LADA\u2019s Cannabis Campaign with LACDPH and LACOE includes billboards and bus stop ads to educate teenagers and parents on the risks of new generations of cannabis products<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

LOS ANGELES<\/strong> \u2014 The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office today announced a public service campaign to educate youth and caregivers on the risks associated with newer generations of cannabis products\u2014which are up to 23 times stronger than they were 50 years ago\u2014to promote healthy communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s cannabis products such as edibles can carry serious short-and long-term mental health risks for our youth, including anxiety, depression, and potentially psychotic disorders, leading to negative outcomes with a far-reaching impact on communities,\u201d said District Attorney Gasc\u00f3n. \u201cTeenagers and parents might not be aware of the potency and potential harms of these new products. We are honored to work with our partners in the county Department of Public Health and Office of Education on this important county-wide campaign to help set up our youth for success.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLos Angeles County’s Department of Public Health supports ensuring awareness of the risks of cannabis use so our communities can make informed decisions about their health and well-being,\u201d said Dr. Brian Hurley, Medical Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health\u2019s Substance Abuse Prevention and Control program.<\/p>\n

The multi-language billboards and bus stop ads can be found throughout LA County near high schools and in areas teenagers frequent. The eye-catching visuals will also be shared to social media.<\/p>\n
