2025-2026 Action Plan Will Help Disperse $28.3 Million for Projects, Programs, and Services in the County<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alhambra, November 7, 2024<\/strong> \u2013 Throughout the month of November, the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) held in-person, livestreamed, and virtual community meetings for residents of the unincorporated Los Angeles County (County) and participating agency recipients. The meetings collected input for the County\u2019s 2025-2026 Annual Action Plan and included topics relating to homelessness and economic development.<\/p>\n

The 2025-2026 Annual Action Plan will disperse approximately $28.3 million in Federal community development and housing funds, including an estimated $19.3 million from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, roughly $7.3 million from the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and approximately $1.7 million from the Emergency Solutions Grant Program. This funding helps support projects that improve community facilities, streets, and sidewalks; provides childcare programs, services for senior citizens and individuals experiencing homelessness; homebuyer assistance and home repair programs; low-interest business loans; and graffiti removal.<\/p>\n

During the meetings, attendees were encouraged to complete the LACDA Community Needs Survey and navigate through the community meeting website\u00a0yourvoicecounts.lacda.org<\/a>, to learn more about the process.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Emilio Salas, LACDA Executive Director stated, \u201cThis year marked the 50th anniversary of the CDBG Program, a Federal resource that has allowed the LACDA to help meet its mission to\u00a0\u2018Build Better Lives and Better Neighborhoods\u2019\u00a0for individuals, families, and businesses within the County. This Program provides necessary funding to address infrastructure, economic development, housing, disaster recovery, and other community needs.\u00a0We are thankful to the Federal government for helping sustain the CDBG Program and we are hopeful to continue receiving this vital resource for many years in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Individuals who were unable to attend the community meetings can submit surveys until Friday, January 31, 2025. Please visit the LACDA\u2019s website at\u00a0yourvoicecounts.lacda.org<\/a>\u00a0to learn how to submit a survey online or via U.S. Mail. Surveys are also available in English and five (5) other languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Armenian.<\/p>\n
