LAPost, Los Angeles (December 26, 2024)<\/strong> \u2013 The Chinese American NGO Research Association, North America Chinese Media Polling Center, and the English-language Los Angeles Post<\/em> jointly announced the \u201cTop 10 News Stories of 2024 for Chinese American Organizations in Southern California\u201d on December 26. These selections were based on professional polling, emphasizing the influence, impact, and media coverage of news events. Rankings also incorporated online search statistics, social media traffic, and comprehensive data analysis.<\/p>\n

This marks the 16th consecutive year these organizations have released the \u201cTop 10 News Stories of the Year for Chinese American Organizations in Southern California.\u201d The results were published in both Chinese and English.<\/p>\n

The selection committee noted that this year\u2019s highlights continue to focus on diverse themes and innovative event models presented by Chinese American and international student organizations. Attention was given to their sustainable development, societal impact, and the forward-looking topics of their evolving roles in U.S.-China relations.<\/p>\n

January 2<\/strong> \u2013 The All-American Chinese Youth Federation, Los Angeles Chinese Film and TV Artists Association, and Los Angeles Post<\/em> co-hosted the \u201cYouth Forum on Online Micro-Drama Creation and Opportunities\u201d in Los Angeles. The forum discussed how Chinese and international student creators could leverage their strengths as micro-dramas increasingly shift towards high-quality production. This was Southern California\u2019s first professional forum on micro-dramas.<\/li>\n
  2. February 27<\/strong> \u2013 Yue-Sai Kan\u2019s One World Fund, in partnership with the China Institute, held the annual \u201cTop 10 Outstanding Asian Women\u201d Awards in Los Angeles. The event recognized \u201cexceptional Asian women who boldly transform our communities and future.\u201d Yue-Sai Kan presented awards to 10 women, including Lisa Lu.\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n

May 11<\/strong> \u2013 In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Ying Wisdom and Annie\u2019s Cat Lounge co-hosted the \u201cCultural Feast\u201d at the Ying Wisdom Cultural Center in Arcadia.   5. August 31\u2013September 1<\/strong> \u2013 The Overseas Young Chinese Forum (OYCF) held its 2024 annual conference and 25th-anniversary celebration in San Diego. Themed \u201cObserving China Up Close: Fieldwork, Social Change, and U.S.-China Relations,\u201d the event attracted nearly 80 experts, scholars, and Ph.D. students. The forum also announced the establishment of the OYCF Stilwell Research Fund to support research on U.S.-China relations.\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n

September 23 & October 19<\/strong> \u2013 The Asian Hall of Fame celebrated its 20th anniversary with a series of events, including a book signing for Connie: A Memoir<\/em> by legendary journalist Connie Chung on September 23.
