Every displaced resident now qualifies for free fares and we will have Metro staff at wildfire resource centers to help people register.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The proposal authorizes Metro\u2019s CEO Stephanie Wiggins to modify the eligibility of the LIFE reduced fare program for at least six months to include individuals displaced by wildfires as well as mobilize outreach teams to evacuation centers and resource centers to assist wildfire survivors in registering for these programs.\u00a0<em>Residents enrolled in LIFE can enjoy 20 free rides every month on Metro or a discounted pass on another participating transit agency.<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/links-1.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/https:%2F%2Fwww.metro.net%2Friding%2Ffares%2Flife%2F%3Futm_content=%26utm_medium=email%26utm_name=%26utm_source=govdelivery%26utm_term=\/1\/01000194948cd6bb-de83b381-f079-46dc-9954-414628c2f164-000000\/C4ssR-HUx-Qi-3BWkoJgt5ibaYtfni_j5otd2GEP-Fg=389\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/links-1.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/https:%252F%252Fwww.metro.net%252Friding%252Ffares%252Flife%252F%253Futm_content%3D%2526utm_medium%3Demail%2526utm_name%3D%2526utm_source%3Dgovdelivery%2526utm_term%3D\/1\/01000194948cd6bb-de83b381-f079-46dc-9954-414628c2f164-000000\/C4ssR-HUx-Qi-3BWkoJgt5ibaYtfni_j5otd2GEP-Fg%3D389&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1737745460012000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0NkqQAlTVOyJiGnn8-VcS6\">Learn more about the Metro LIFE program here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u201cAs we work to bring every resource to our residents impacted by the wildfires\u2014including Metro employees\u2014it\u2019s important that our Metro Board is also at the table,&#8221;<strong>\u00a0said Metro Board Member and LA County Board of Supervisors Chair Kathryn Barger.<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;Thousands of residents are now without a reliable means of transportation and our Metro system may play a crucial role as an option for residents to get to work and to our Disaster Recovery Centers to access support. It\u2019s our duty to uplift our residents and employees when they need it most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u201cThe devastation caused by the Eaton and Palisades fires has left lives lost, homes destroyed, and thousands displaced,\u201d\u00a0<strong>said Third District Supervisor and Metro Board Member Lindsey P. Horvath.<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cThis motion ensures we are leveraging every resource available to provide impacted residents and Metro employees access to reduced fare programs, disaster assistance, and direct outreach and support.
