As part of Measure G’s comprehensive governance reform directives, County Departments will provide public budget request presentations at the Board of Supervisors meetings over the next few weeks.<\/em><\/h3>\n

Los Angeles, CA \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Today, the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors held the first of several budget presentations at the Board of Supervisors Meeting, in response to Measure G which calls for public presentations of each Departments\u2019 budget request.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

County Departments of Beaches and Harbos, Military and Veteran Affairs, Museum of Art, Natural History Museums, Child Support Services, and Agricultural Commissioner, all provided presentations with opportunity for the Board of Supervisors to ask questions and gain clarity on departments\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chair Pro Tem and County Supervisor, Hilda L. Solis, issued the following statement:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s budget presentations are the first step towards governance reform, and a critical step towards transparency and accountability. Over the next few weeks, constituents will not only be able to hear the Board ask questions, but also exercise civic engagement through public comment. \u00a0This is an opportunity for residents to voice their support on critical issues including tomorrow\u2019s presentation by the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs\u2019 Office of Immigrant Affairs on legal representation for immigrants.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I am proud to have championed this Measure and am glad to see our constituents will get a fuller understanding in how their tax dollars can be better spent to improve our communities and ensure a better quality of life.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As a result of the passing of Measure G during the 2024 elections, Los Angeles County voters approved a comprehensive package of reforms to answer the public\u2019s call for transparency and accountability, including public budget presentations. The County of Los Angeles will be holding public budget presentations on the following dates:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
