Horvath wants to ensure community members know what to expect as they regain access to PCH and move through Palisades Fire-impacted areas.

“The PCH closure has been challenging for our residents who need to get to and from work, school, and essential trips. As PCH reopens, we have streamlined the process for them to more easily navigate checkpoints and access their properties,” said Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath. “Our Malibu, Topanga Canyon, Big Rock, Sunset Mesa, and all impacted unincorporated community residents can now pick up access passes from Malibu City Hall. We are here for our residents through every step of recovery.”

Impacted Malibu & Unincorporated Communities

Beginning Thursday, February 20, residents and businesses in the burn scar areas in Malibu, Sunset Mesa, Topanga Canyon, and other unincorporated communities will be able to pick up an access pass from Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd, Malibu, CA 90265 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. These are distributed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Impacted Pacific Palisades

Pacific Palisades residents and businesses in the burn scar area can continue to pick up access passes from Los Angeles City staff at the Disaster Recovery Center at 10850 Pico Blvd., Los Angeles from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Access Pass Details

The passes are intended to streamline movement along PCH, ensuring fire-impacted residents and business owners can efficiently move through checkpoints and access their properties. An ID or other form of identification with name and address (i.e. utility bill, tax bill, paystub, or bank statement) is required to pick up an access pass. Each member of a household should have an access pass and display it on the dashboard of their vehicle.

Passes for contractors are currently limited to entities completing assessments, evaluations, providing security services, and services conducted inside of standing structures (i.e. cleaning, remediation, care services). For tow or moving companies, the resident should join the service provider at the checkpoint for access.

What to Expect on PCH

Like the prior limited reopening, PCH will be one lane in each direction at the reduced speed of 25 MPH. This is a resident access only reopening and allows critical utility work to continue.

Access to Pacific Palisades will remain restricted to residents and authorized personnel only. LAPD and National Guard personnel are manning checkpoints, and CHP is providing crime suppression support within the zone.

The Sheriff’s Department continues to operate at elevated staffing throughout Malibu and unincorporated communities to maintain high visibility.

For the latest road closure information, visit pw.lacounty.gov/roadclosures
and https://dot.ca.gov/caltrans-near-me/district-7/district-7-news/d7-pch-access-expanded.

[6

post-70904","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-ca-local
["GET
