Chinese Candidates Receive Highest Vote Totals in \u00be Categories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>March 3, 2025 (San Francisco)<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0California Democratic Party voters in San Francisco elected 14 Democrats (7 men and 7 women) from each Assembly District (AD) to represent them at the next two California Democratic Party conventions. Assembly Districts 17 and 19, which both geographically cover San Francisco, each elected 14 people. The candidates elected shape the endorsements and policy platform of the California Democratic Party.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">On the westside of San Francisco (AD 19) the male and female candidates receiving the most votes were both Chinese. On the eastside of San Francisco (AD 17) the male candidate receiving the most votes was Chinese.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For the third time, Alan Wong \u738b\u5146\u502b received the most votes overall on the westside (AD 19). He is currently an elected member of the City College of San Francisco Board of Trustees and policy director at Children\u2019s Council of San Francisco. Adrianna Zhang \u5f20\u53ef\u83b9 was the highest voter recipient for women in AD 19. She is the former Chair for the San Francisco Youth Commission and Stanford University public policy student. Cliff Yee \u4f59\u7e7c\u4e2d also won a seat in AD 19. He is the Board President for The Richmond Neighborhood Center and founding Board Member for the San Francisco Parent Coalition.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI\u2019m incredibly humbled by the faith my fellow Democrats have placed in me,\u201d said Wong. This is my fourth time being elected and I look forward to working with fellow Democratic Party activists from across the state to improve the conditions for public education and safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hanley Chan \u9673\u570b\u6176 received the most votes overall on the eastside (AD 17). He is a veteran who served in the US Navy and Army National Guard, and father currently serving as Director of Public Affairs for a veteran non-profit.
