{"id":7172,"date":"2018-04-30T21:09:11","date_gmt":"2018-05-01T04:09:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=7172"},"modified":"2018-04-30T21:09:11","modified_gmt":"2018-05-01T04:09:11","slug":"howard-jarvis-taxpayers-association-pac-endorses-john-cox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=7172","title":{"rendered":"HOWARD JARVIS TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION PAC ENDORSES JOHN COX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>California &#8212; The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association Political Action Committee (HJTA PAC) announced today that it has endorsed Republican John Cox in his campaign for Governor of California.<\/p>\n<p>In their release announcing the endorsement HJTA PAC noted:<\/p>\n<p><em>Cox, a successful businessman and a leader of the effort to repeal the gas and car tax increases passed by the legislature last year without voter approval, is the leading Republican according to several public and private polls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is critical to have a pro-taxpayer candidate at the top of the ticket in November,\u201d said Jon Coupal, Chairman of HJTA PAC. \u201cIf two tax-and-spend progressives are the only candidates on the ballot after the primary, that hurts our ability to advance our continued protection of Proposition 13 and California\u2019s beleaguered middle class.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coupal said the HJTA PAC Board of Directors was impressed by Cox, who has been an important coalition partner in the gas\/car tax repeal effort.
