More than 2,000 unwanted guns have been collected at Hahn’s previous events<\/em><\/h1>\n

Lynwood, CA<\/strong>\u2014This Saturday, April 26, 2025, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn will hold\u00a0a gun buyback event<\/a>\u00a0at the Lynwood Station Metro Park & Ride lot located at 11508 Long Beach Blvd. in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Century Station and the City of Lynwood. The event, open to residents of any city, will welcome participants from 9am to 1pm and offers an opportunity to anonymously exchange any gun for gift cards.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of these events and the people who have chosen to take us up on this offer, today there are more than 2,000 fewer guns that can be used in a violent crime or a tragic accident in our communities,\u201d said Hahn. \u201cFor people who have guns they no longer want around their families, this is their chance to get rid of them 100%\u00a0<\/strong>safely and<\/strong>\u00a0anonymously. They can help make their homes and communities safer places to live.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saturday’s buyback will be Hahn’s fourteenth. Between the previous events held in Lynwood, North Long Beach, Norwalk, Wilmington, Long Beach, Hawaiian Gardens, Artesia, Bellflower, Pico Rivera, and Torrance since May 2022, Hahn’s initiative\u00a0has taken in and destroyed 2,052 unwanted firearms<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are important guidelines to participating in the buyback that ensure the safety of the public and deputies. Participants should not arrive on foot or transit, and should transport firearms unloaded and in the trunk of a vehicle.<\/p>\n

Participants will receive gift cards in amounts according to the type of gun exchanged.<\/p>\n
