Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Kathryn Barger joined local leaders, housing advocates, and veterans yesterday morning to celebrate the grand opening of Danny\u2019s Home for Heroes, a 35-unit permanent supportive housing complex dedicated to formerly homeless veterans in the Antelope Valley.<\/p>\n
Located at 4856 West Avenue L-14 in Quartz Hill, Danny\u2019s Home for Heroes is a collaborative effort between private partners and public agencies to address the urgent need for veteran housing in Los Angeles County.<\/p>\n
The project was spearheaded by Kingdom Development and Oculus1 Development, with support from multiple funding sources including the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA), the California Department of Housing and Community Development, CalVet, R4 Capital, and Western Alliance Bank.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis building is a shining example of the community stepping up to support veterans,\u201d said\u00a0Supervisor Kathryn Barger\u00a0<\/strong>during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. \u201cAs I\u2019ve said before, we should never have to use the words \u2018homeless\u2019 and \u2018veteran\u2019 in the same sentence. Today\u2019s celebration marks an important step toward making sure our veterans in the Antelope Valley are housed in a supportive and welcoming environment.\u201d<\/p>\n Supervisor Barger presented a commemorative scroll to Richard Montes of Oculus1 Development and William Leach of Kingdom Development, recognizing their leadership and long-standing dedication to the project.<\/p>\n Danny\u2019s Home for Heroes has been fully leased since January, offering formerly homeless veterans stable housing along with onsite supportive services.
