This is to protect the public and allow for the recovery of burned wild lands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHikers who trespass onto fire-damaged trails can put themselves at risk from unstable terrain, fallen trees or trails that simply no longer exist,\u201d said Reserve Deputy Sheriff David Chien, Team Leader of the Altadena Mountain Rescue Team. \u201cRespecting closures is the best way to prevent injuries, being rescued and also helps the land to recover.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Eaton Fire severely damaged trails and infrastructure, and the long-term closure of Eaton Canyon Natural Area helps keep the public safe and allows nature to heal burned areas,\u201d said Norma E. Garc\u00eda-Gonz\u00e1lez, Director of County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks). \u201cMany wonderful trails are available across the county, and users can find them at our LA County Parks site at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/trails.lacounty.gov\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/trails.lacounty.gov\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1748024245663000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2gUlASXkun0yNtIuC9MNhb\">trails.lacounty.gov<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe encourage visitors to take this opportunity to explore other areas of the forest this Memorial Day holiday and until the Eaton Canyon area reopens,\u201d said Forest Supervisor Roman Torres of the Angeles National Forest.
