The exhibition, <em data-start=\"395\" data-end=\"492\">World of the Terracotta Warriors: New Archaeological Discoveries in Shaanxi in the 21st Century<\/em>, opens to the public on May 24 at the Bowers Museum in Orange County. It is jointly organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration, Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Center, the Emperor Qin Shi Huang\u2019s Mausoleum Site Museum of China, and the Bowers Museum. Li Gang, Director of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang\u2019s Mausoleum Site Museum, and Dr. Tianlong Jiao, Chief Curator and Deputy Director of the Bowers Museum, introduced the exhibition\u2019s highlights and curatorial concept.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1201\" data-end=\"1258\">2,200 Years of History Unearthed<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1260\" data-end=\"1598\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Featuring 108 artifacts spanning from the late Neolithic period to the fall of the Qin Dynasty, the exhibition presents a sweeping narrative of China\u2019s ancient civilization\u2014from its diverse origins to unification under the First Emperor. Together, these discoveries help fill key historical gaps and offer new insight into China\u2019s past.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3054\" data-end=\"3084\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Technology Meets Tradition<\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3086\" data-end=\"3420\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Far from a traditional display, <em data-start=\"3118\" data-end=\"3152\">World of the Terracotta Warriors<\/em> integrates state-of-the-art museum technologies to deliver an immersive, interactive visitor experience. Now 80 years old, Shih has been instrumental in bringing China\u2019s most celebrated treasures to Southern California since 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2023, when she learned other institutions were vying for the Terracotta Warriors, Shih acted swiftly\u2014securing international agreements and spearheading a major fundraising campaign that raised over $1.5 million to bring the exhibition back to Bowers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cThe Terracotta Warriors belong here,\u201d Shih said with conviction. \u201cThey\u2019ve become part of our story in Southern California. For my 80th birthday, I couldn\u2019t ask for a better gift than to share this extraordinary exhibition with our community once again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4708\" data-end=\"4744\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Building Bridges Through Culture<\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4746\" data-end=\"5062\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Beyond its scholarly and aesthetic value, <em data-start=\"4788\" data-end=\"4822\">World of the Terracotta Warriors<\/em> serves as a cultural bridge between East and West.
