This week, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Kathryn Barger\u00a0renewed a $75,000 reward<\/a>\u00a0for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the tragic 2016 murder of four-year-old Salvador \u201cChavita\u201d Esparza III.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a plea to the public,\u201d said\u00a0Supervisor Kathryn Barger<\/strong>. \u201cNine years ago, this innocent child\u2019s life was stolen in a senseless act of violence. Someone knows what happened\u2013and even the smallest tip could be they key to justice. I implore anyone with information to come forward and help us bring closure to the Esparza family.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the evening of July 5, 2016, young Salvador was fatally shot while standing on the front porch of a relative\u2019s home in Altadena. The shooter has never been identified. Despite ongoing efforts by law enforcement, the case remains unsolved.<\/p>\n

Supervisor Barger\u2019s decision to renew the reward is a renewed call for leads and a reflection of her continued commitment to seeking justice for the Esparza family.<\/p>\n

Pasadena Mayor Victor M. Gordo\u00a0<\/strong>echoed the urgency for public involvement. \u201cSalvador \u2018Chavita\u2019 Esparza\u2019s life was needlessly cut short at just 4 years old,\u201d stated Mayor Gordo. \u201cWe must not forget this innocent child. I want to emphasize that the community\u2019s help is vital. Supervisor Barger’s leadership in renewing the reward reinforces our shared commitment to accountability and justice.\u201d<\/p>\n
