{"id":74749,"date":"2025-08-14T14:39:38","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T21:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=74749"},"modified":"2025-08-14T14:39:38","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T21:39:38","slug":"pooches-in-the-pool-splashes-back-into-la-county-parks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=74749","title":{"rendered":"Pooches in the Pool Splashes Back into LA County Parks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><em>It\u2019s going to be a tail-waggin\u2019, paw-some time across all 5 LA County districts!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>LOS ANGELES (August 14, 2025)<\/strong> \u2014 The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks), in partnership with the Department of Animal Care and Control, is thrilled to announce the return of Pooches in the Pool, a fur-tastic event taking place at five select locations across the county on two dates, Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This dog-friendly splash bash invites pups to dive in and make a splash before pools close for the season. To keep the event safe and tail-friendly, swim times are divided by dog size, with the first hour dedicated to small dogs and the second hour for large dogs. The event also marks the final day of LA County\u2019s seasonal pools program. Following \u201cPooches in the Pool,\u201d all pools will be drained and cleaned for the year, with no additional swim programs for humans until the next season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To paw-ticipate in this un-fur-gettable evening, dog owners must bring proof of current pet licensing and vaccination records, along with a completed registration form that can be found here:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/parks.lacounty.gov\/pooches-in-the-pool\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/parks.lacounty.gov\/pooches-in-the-pool&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1755292081693000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3b3_9kI1f0KFA9H1ZLPePz\">parks.lacounty.gov\/pooches-in-the-pool<\/a>. Current licenses from other cities and counties will be honored. It is the responsibility of the owner\/handler to provide proof of the current active license and current rabies vaccination upon entry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Dogs will be allowed to be off-leash on the pool deck only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Owners\/handlers must clean up after their dogs (bags and receptacles are provided)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Aggressive dogs are not allowed. Owners\/handlers of any dog(s) exhibiting aggressive or unruly behavior will be removed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There must be at least one owner\/handler for every (2) dogs admitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Owner\/handlers must be over 18 years of age. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Female dogs in season\/heat are not allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Dog owners\/handlers are both personally and legally responsible for their dogs and their actions.
