Shared chargers can be found at apartment complexes, workplaces, sports facilities, and other parking areas. This statewide network of public and shared chargers is in addition to the estimated 800,000 EV chargers installed in single family homes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWith this expanding public network, EV chargers are becoming ubiquitous in California,\u201d\u00a0<strong>said CEC Commissioner Nancy Skinner.<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cOur goal is to make driving an EV a no-brainer choice for Californians. They are fun to drive, never need an oil change, don\u2019t cause smog, and it\u2019s getting easier to charge your vehicle with public EV infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">Federal ZEV incentives end September 30<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Thanks to the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress, federal incentives are ending on September 30.<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=b06cfa665f&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3Db06cfa665f%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1758821749101000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1RPPSvJWTU2fWAvK515Zj1\">\u00a0Tax credits up to $7,500<\/a>\u00a0are available until then for purchase or lease of eligible new ZEVs, which include EVs and hydrogen-fueled vehicles, and up to $4,000 for eligible used ones. Federal incentives for at-home charging and associated battery storage are also available, up to $1,000.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">California is charging ahead<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">State agencies recently published<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=d44e2373a4&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3Dd44e2373a4%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1758821749101000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0okZFydMNMj69I8kI4P-iY\">\u00a0a report<\/a>\u00a0in response to Governor Gavin Newsom\u2019s executive order reaffirming the state\u2019s commitment to ZEV adoption. While the federal government wants to keep us hooked on gas, California is charging ahead in the fight for clean air for all.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">California is tearing down barriers to ZEV adoption and providing financial and other assistance to speed up EV charger deployment including in low-income areas and rural communities.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">California state agencies continue efforts to speed up EV charger installation and plan for increasing grid demand. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Providing grant funds that support publicly accessible, workplace and at-home charging installations, including in multi-family complexes, throughout the state.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Prioritizing shovel-ready fast-charging installations for the funding incentives available through the CEC\u2019s grant solicitation programs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Developing the ZEV Infrastructure Plan, a comprehensive plan that lays out the overall infrastructure strategy to meet California\u2019s zero-emission transportation goals.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Establishing charger reliability standards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In June, the state successfully blocked the Trump Administration from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=9de82cc7bb&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3D9de82cc7bb%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1758821749101000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1jYTTRTB51MERRDs-RE3Me\">unlawfully withholding billions of dollars<\/a>\u00a0in funding approved by bipartisan majorities in Congress for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">California also announced today that there are 20,093<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=af3b8c1620&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3Daf3b8c1620%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1758821749102000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2Qacgj5_ELw_YTaySDkl5M\">\u00a0charging and hydrogen fueling points for medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) vehicles<\/a>\u00a0across the state. This is an increase of 3,766 (23%) since the last update in February.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">While trucks total just six percent of vehicles on California\u2019s roads, they account for over 35 percent of the state\u2019s transportation emissions and a quarter of the state\u2019s on-road greenhouse gases.<\/p>\n<h2>California\u2019s climate leadership<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Pollution is down and the economy is up. Greenhouse gas emissions in California are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=619c873c82&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3D619c873c82%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1758821749102000&amp;usg=AOvVaw07dH18V0vpCFFp2FuEmnLy\">down 20% since 2000<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 even as the state\u2019s GDP increased 78% in that same time period all while becoming the world&#8217;s fourth largest economy.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The state also continues to set clean energy records. California was powered by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=5ccb9ad039&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3D5ccb9ad039%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1758821749102000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3MoIhYb3m69nHbCipli_8H\">two-thirds clean energy in 2023<\/a>, the latest year for which data is available \u2013 the largest economy in the world to achieve this level of clean energy.
