That includes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=c5f17db3b2&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3Dc5f17db3b2%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1760034951765000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0XaspYNO2ZefQMo3HXt6_P\">last year\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Click to Cancel bill, AB 2863 by Assemblymember Schiavo, that made it easier to cancel subscriptions, and 2023\u2019s SB 362 by Senator Josh Becker, the DELETE Act, which, beginning in August 2026, will allow Californians to delete all of their data held by data brokers through a single interface.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">Giving consumers more control of their data<\/h2>\n<p>Governor Newsom also signed two additional bills to help consumers maintain better control of their data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">SB 361 by Senator Josh Becker, which strengthens the Data Broker Registration Law\u00a0 by providing\u00a0 consumers with more information about the personal information collected by data brokers and who may have access to consumers\u2019 data.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">AB 566 by Assemblymember Josh Lowenthal, which helps consumers exercise their opt-out rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act by requiring browsers to include a setting to send websites an opt-out preference signal to enable Californians to opt out of third-party sales of their data at one time instead of on each individual website.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\"><strong id=\"m_-4255223241704507424docs-internal-guid-9c917c2c-7fff-caff-f24c-3a25e170cfef\">Strengthening consumer protection<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=6c2bd7e6ea&amp;e=0a97a8055b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dafffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55%26id%3D6c2bd7e6ea%26e%3D0a97a8055b&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1760034951765000&amp;usg=AOvVaw03Ilqd8yzltQlue7GNJm6E\">Other consumer protection bills<\/a>\u00a0signed this year include legislation to strengthen the authority of the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, thereby helping fill the void left by the Trump administration\u2019s weakening of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau;
