LOS ANGELES, CA<\/strong> \u2013 Oscar\u00ae-nominated producer and Academy Producers Branch governor Jennifer Fox will return to produce the 16th Governors Awards for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor announced today. It is her seventh time producing the event.<\/p>\n

At the Governors Awards, Honorary Oscars\u00ae will be presented to Debbie Allen, Tom Cruise and Wynn Thomas, and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to Dolly Parton. The event will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\u201cJennifer\u2019s expertise in producing the Governors Awards is unmatched. We are thrilled to welcome her back to kick off our 98th Oscars events with a celebration of four truly remarkable honorees,\u201d said Howell Taylor.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always an honor to produce this joyous and esteemed Academy event,\u201d said Fox. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to helping pay tribute to the incredible achievements of Debbie Allen, Tom Cruise, Dolly Parton and Wynn Thomas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox has produced or executive produced some of the most iconic films of the last 20 years, including Tony Gilroy\u2019s directorial debut, \u201cMichael Clayton,\u201d which earned seven Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. She began her film industry career in development and production at Universal Pictures, where she worked on several films, including \u201cErin Brockovich.\u201d For the next six years, Fox produced films with Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney\u2019s production company, Section Eight, where she worked on such acclaimed titles as \u201cSyriana,\u201d \u201cGood Night, and Good Luck.,\u201d \u201cA Scanner Darkly\u201d and \u201cThe Informant!.\u201d Her other film credits include \u201cDuplicity,\u201d \u201cThe Bourne Legacy,\u201d \u201cWe Need to Talk about Kevin,\u201d \u201cNightcrawler,\u201d \u201cRoman J. Israel, Esq.,\u201d \u201cVelvet Buzzsaw,\u201d \u201cThe Report,\u201d \u201cThe Last Duel\u201d and \u201cMagazine Dreams.\u201d She is currently working on her next film, \u201cArtificial,\u201d directed by Luca Guadagnino. Additionally, Fox has produced the Academy\u2019s last six consecutive Governors Awards.<\/p>\n

The Honorary Award, an Oscar statuette, is given \u201cto honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences in any discipline, or for outstanding service to the Academy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, also an Oscar statuette, is given \u201cto an individual in the motion picture arts and sciences whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry by promoting human welfare and contributing to rectifying inequities.\u201d<\/p>\n
