Los Angeles, CA \uff08October 14, 2025\uff09-\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Today, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved\u00a0a motion by Supervisor Janice Hahn<\/a>\u00a0to proclaim October 14, 2025 as Rock en Espa\u00f1ol Day in the County. Hahn presented an official recognition to Angelinos Rockeros, a group of rock en espa\u00f1ol enthusiasts who work to promote the genre in Los Angeles County.<\/p>\n

“Put on a rock en espa\u00f1ol song in any corner of LA County, and you’re bound to find more than one person who knows it by heart. This is an iconic genre that has had a strong following here in LA County for generations,”\u00a0said Hahn.<\/strong>\u00a0“I’m proud to represent Latino communities who love this music, and proud to give it the official recognition it deserves.”<\/p>\n

Robert Molina, a member of Angelinos Rockeros and owner of Roxanne’s in Long Beach, first raised the possibility of an official proclamation to celebrate the genre. This Sunday, Molina will host\u00a0Rock en Espa\u00f1ol: Celebrating 30+ Years of Latin Rock in Los Angeles<\/a><\/em>\u00a0at Roxanne’s. The free community event will feature music, food, and a discussion about the history of rock en espa\u00f1ol in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

“On behalf of the LA Rock en espa\u00f1ol community, we would like to thank Supervisor Janice Hahn and the County of Los Angeles for the honor of granting us Angelinos with the official ‘Rock en Espa\u00f1ol Day’,”\u00a0said the group, Angelinos Rockeros.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Los Angeles County is home to the largest Spanish-speaking population of any county in the nation. Broadly, the United States is home to the second largest Spanish-speaking population in the world, after Mexico.
