{"id":76927,"date":"2025-11-03T10:38:23","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T18:38:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=76927"},"modified":"2025-11-03T10:38:23","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T18:38:23","slug":"downtown-los-angeles-civic-center-courthouses-to-pause-operations-due-to-impacts-of-dodgers-victory-parade-on-monday-november-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=76927","title":{"rendered":"Downtown Los Angeles Civic Center Courthouses to Pause Operations Due to Impacts of Dodgers Victory Parade on Monday, November 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<table role=\"presentation\" width=\"100%\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div><u><b><i><span lang=\"EN\">Stanley Mosk Courthouse, the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Superior Court Departments at the Spring Street Courthouse and the Archives and Records Center Will Be Closed to the Public; Majority of Los Angeles County Courthouses to Remain Open with Regular Operations<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/u><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<table role=\"presentation\" width=\"100%\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>As a result of extensive city street closures and significant crowds anticipated for the Los Angeles Dodgers 2025 World Series parade on Monday, Nov. 3, the Court will modify operations at select courthouses and facilities in the downtown Los Angeles Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p><b><u>Impacted Courthouses and Facilities:<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p>As a result of extensive road closures beginning as early as 4 a.m. and anticipated pedestrian attendance severely impacting access to buildings in the Civic Center, the following Los Angeles County courthouses will be closed to the public on Monday, Nov. 3.<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Stanley Mosk Courthouse at 111 N. Hill St.<\/li>\n<li>Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center at 210 W. Temple St.<\/li>\n<li>Superior Court departments at the Spring Street Courthouse at 312 N. Spring St.<\/li>\n<li>Superior Court Archives and Records Center at 222 N. Hill St., Room 212.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Regular court operations at these locations will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 4. The Court\u2019s remaining 33 courthouses will be open for business as usual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to significant anticipated crowds and related street closures in the Civic Center area, litigants, staff, and judicial officers will be unable to access our downtown Los Angeles courthouses. As a result, it is necessary to modify court operations at these locations,\u201d Presiding Judge Sergio C. Tapia II said. \u201cThe Court remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring timely access to justice for all Los Angeles County residents. Restraining order cases scheduled for Monday, Nov. 3 in Departments 13, 25, and 94 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse are transferred to Departments 68 and 69 at the Metropolitan Courthouse, located at 1945 S. Hill Street, Los Angeles, on Monday, November 3. The Court will provide counsel and parties with notice by email or telephone.<\/p>\n<p><b>Self-Help Centers<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Self Help Call Center is available to assist at 213-830-0845. Jurors currently serving on trials in the impacted courthouses do not need to report on Monday. Criminal grand jurors scheduled to appear at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center are advised to appear on Monday, Nov. 10 instead of Monday, Nov. 3.<\/p>\n<p>The largest trial court in the nation, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County serves a population of almost 10 million in 36 courthouses with a jurisdiction covering over 4,000 square miles that includes 88 cities, 140 unincorporated areas and 88 law enforcement agencies.
