2026-2027 Action Plan Will Help Disperse $25.3 Million for Projects, Programs, and Services in the County<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alhambra, November 3, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 In an effort to collect input on the distribution of Federal funding, the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) hosted an in-person and livestreamed a Community Meeting for residents of the unincorporated Los Angeles County (County) and participating agency recipients. The meeting gathered public input for the County\u2019s 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan, focusing on issues such as homelessness and community development.<\/p>\n

The 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan will allocate approximately $25.3 million in Federal community development and housing funds. This includes an estimated $17.6 million from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, approximately $6 million from the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and an estimated $1.7 million from the Emergency Solutions Grants Program. These funds will support a wide range of initiatives, including improvements to community facilities, streets, and sidewalks; childcare and senior services; assistance for individuals experiencing homelessness, homebuyer assistance and home repair programs; low-interest business loans; and graffiti removal.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, attendees were encouraged to complete the LACDA Community Needs Survey and navigate through the Community Meeting website\u00a0yourvoicecounts.lacda.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Emilio Salas, the Executive Director of the LACDA stated, \u201cSince its establishment 51 years ago, the CDBG Program has proven to be a vital Federal initiative that has empowered the LACDA to fulfill its mission to \u2018Build Better Lives and Better Neighborhoods\u2019 for individuals, families, and businesses across the County. CDBG provides essential funding to support infrastructure improvements, economic development, housing, disaster recovery, and other critical community needs. We are deeply grateful to the Federal government for its continued support of this impactful Program and remain hopeful that this valuable funding source will be sustained for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
