The order ensures that homeowners who choose to install rooftop solar systems keep their insurance benefits and streamlines the process for replacing septic systems with municipal sewers. The Governor continues to work with survivors and local governments to design and adjust recovery efforts to survivors\u2019 and communities\u2019 needs. Today\u2019s order, issued with homeowner feedback, ensures that homeowners with available insurance proceeds can use them to cover the costs of optional rooftop solar and other code upgrades. In response to local government feedback, today\u2019s order also suspends state statutes to support faster and lower cost development of municipal sewer systems. Finally, in response to concerns that many survivors face imminent exhaustion of funds for rental housing, the executive order expands the Governor\u2019s previous order prioritizing displaced survivors on waitlists for affordable housing placement.<\/p>\n
