The initiative partners with Black-owned clean beauty brands that have<br \/>\ncommitted to donating a percentage of holiday sales back to CBHN to support its community education,<br \/>\nadvocacy, and health empowerment programs.<br \/>\nThe Gift of Clean Beauty campaign is part of CBHN\u2019s Spreading the Beauty Truth &#8211; Beauty Detox<br \/>\nDays, a program designed to raise awareness about the health risks associated with toxic chemicals in<br \/>\nbeauty and personal care products\u2014chemicals that disproportionately impact Black women, Black<br \/>\nfamilies, and Black communities.<br \/>\n\u201cOur beauty should never come at the expense of our health,\u201d said Rhonda Smith, Executive<br \/>\nDirector of the California Black Health Network. \u201cToo many products marketed to Black consumers<br \/>\ncontain hazardous chemicals linked to cancer, hormone disruption, fertility issues, and chronic disease.<br \/>\nThis holiday season, we are providing a healthier, culturally centered alternative by spotlighting Blackowned clean beauty brands that are committed to safety, transparency, and protecting our community\u2019s<br \/>\nwell-being.\u201d<br \/>\nThrough the Gift of Clean Beauty initiative, consumers can shop haircare, skincare, and beauty products<br \/>\ncreated by trusted Black-owned brands that prioritize clean, non-toxic ingredients. These purchases<br \/>\ndirectly support:<br \/>\n\u2022 Black clean beauty entrepreneurs<br \/>\n\u2022 CBHN\u2019s Beauty Detox Days education and outreach efforts<br \/>\n\u2022 CBHN\u2019s statewide \u201cMaking the Healthcare System Work Better for You\u201d initiative<br \/>\n\u2022 Programs that help Black Californians navigate healthcare changes related to HR1<br \/>\n\u201cClean beauty is community care\u201d. \u201cWhen consumers choose products that honor their health, they also<br \/>\nsupport Black businesses and strengthen CBHN\u2019s mission to improve health outcomes for Black<br \/>\nCalifornians. This is holiday shopping that creates real impact\u201d, said Charity Faye White, CBHN Program,<br \/>\nManager<br \/>\nHealth and Economic Impact<br \/>\nResearch shows that Black women and girls are disproportionately exposed to harmful chemicals found<br \/>\nin hair relaxers, fragrances, skin lighteners, and other products that target Black consumers.
