Our schools are central to our community, supporting students, educators, and working families every day.

I am committed to supporting our families and educators in achieving a fair contract and reopening schools. My office met with UESF at city hall and we were requested to contact the Superintendent and district leadership to urge them to bargain in good faith with the union. As a result, I have reached out and spoken with the Superintendent and nearly every school board member to urge good faith bargaining and an expeditious resolution to the dispute.

I stand with families and educators and am calling for a swift resolution to the dispute. I support our teachers and respect their call for better wages and working conditions. Our educators deserve to be valued, supported, and treated fairly, and I will stand with them on the picket line.

My concentration will be on supporting our families and educators by sharing community resources during the dispute and joining educators on the picket line.
