Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger is inviting residents and families from across the Antelope Valley to come together for a free community soccer viewing party on Friday, June 12, as the FIFA World Cup begins and Team USA takes on Paraguay in its opening match.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunity events like this bring people together in a positive and fun environment, and I believe that is more important now than ever,\u201d said\u00a0Supervisor<\/strong>\u00a0Kathryn<\/strong>\u00a0Barger<\/strong>. \u201cSports have a unique way of uniting people across backgrounds and generations. Creating opportunities for connection helps strengthen our communities at a time when our county and our country need unity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation<\/a>\u00a0will host the soccer viewing party at\u00a0Stephen Sorensen Park<\/strong>, located at 16801 E Avenue P, Palmdale, CA 93591.<\/p>\n

While kickoff between the United States and Paraguay is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. with youth soccer clinics and other free family-friendly activities. The match will be broadcast on a large outdoor screen, allowing attendees to cheer together in a fun community setting.<\/p>\n

Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of soccer, family activities, and community spirit. Admission is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
