Horvath and Kathryn Barger today introduced a motion reaffirming the County\u2019s commitment to a unified, regional Los Angeles Continuum of Care (LA CoC) and protecting the federal funding that helps keep thousands of people housed across the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the future of Los Angeles\u2019s Continuum of Care is debated in the courts, Los Angeles County stands ready to step up and protect the systems that keep our most vulnerable residents housed,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath<\/strong>. \u201cMore than 10,000 people are housed through LA\u2019s Continuum of Care rental subsidies\u2014including people with disabilities and survivors of gender-based violence. We must do everything in our power to keep them housed, healing, and safe. The County is ready to work alongside the Continuum of Care Board, our cities, and regional partners to ensure Los Angeles has a strong, coordinated Continuum of Care that serves every community across our region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Los Angeles Continuum of Care keeps thousands of our most vulnerable neighbors housed and on a path to stability and we cannot allow LAHSA&#8217;s failures or federal uncertainty to put that at risk,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Supervisor Kathryn Barger.<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;Los Angeles County has the infrastructure, the experience, and the commitment to ensure continuity of services, but our first priority is a unified regional application that keeps this system intact.
