Sen.\u00a0Lindsey Graham<\/a>\u00a0(R-S.C.) on Sunday predicted that\u00a0Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh\u00a0would receive the support of multiple Democrats and be easily confirmed.<\/p>\n

Graham said on “Fox News Sunday” that he\u00a0believes at least 55 senators will vote to confirm Kavanaugh\u00a0if the nominee does well in his confirmation hearings, which begin this week.<\/p>\n

To receive 55 votes, Kavanaugh would need the support of at least four Democrats. The Republicans currently hold a 50-49 majority in the Senate, which will increase to 51-49 when\u00a0Gov. Doug Ducey (R) appoints the replacement for the late Sen.\u00a0John McCain<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(R-Ariz.).<\/p>\n

“I think there are a handful of Democrats who will vote for Judge Kavanaugh and maybe even more,” Graham said. “If you\u2019re looking to a Republican president to pick a qualified conservative, he would be on the top of anyone\u2019s list.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kavanaugh\u00a0will face three days of confirmation hearings<\/a>\u00a0beginning Tuesday. He will appear for two marathon days of grilling on Wednesday and Thursday when he appears in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.\u00a0 Graham is a member of that panel.<\/p>\n

President Trump<\/a><\/span>\u00a0in July nominated Kavanaugh to the succeed\u00a0Justice Anthony Kennedy, who announced his retirement.<\/p>\n

Graham\u00a0also said Sunday that there will be “no drama” at hearings.<\/p>\n
