Eight\u00a0people have been shot\u00a0at an apartment complex in\u00a0San Bernardino<\/a>,\u00a0California<\/a>, apparently during a dice game, police have said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to an active shooter in the northeast of the city but no suspect or suspects has been taken into custody.\u200b<\/p>\n

Two victims were in an \u201cextremely critical\u201d condition,\u00a0one adult and\u00a0a 17-year-old boy.<\/p>\n

Captain Richard Lawhead said multiple weapons were fired in what police believe was an exchange of gunfire.<\/p>\n

Detectives do not have a motive for the shooting.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, nobody is cooperating and providing us with the information we need to help us locate a suspect or what led to the shooting or anything else,\u201d Mr Lawhead\u00a0told Reuters.<\/p>\n

The six other adult victims had wounds that were not life-threatening and were expected to survive.<\/p>\n

San Bernardino police spokeswoman Sadie Albers\u00a0said the victims are not cooperating with investigators, so little is known about the shooting.<\/p>\n
