CALIFORNIA STATE FIREFIGHTERS’ ASSOCIATION ENDORSES MIKE ENG FOR STATE SENATE

EL MONTE, CA — The California State Firefighters’ Association (CSFA), consisting of almost 15,000 firefighters from all elements of fire service in California, announced that they have endorsed Democrat Mike Eng for the 22ndState Senate seat. Senator Ed Hernandez, who is termed out, currently represents the district and is also supporting Mike Eng.

The California State Firefighters’ Association (CSFA) is the oldest and largest statewide fire association and is committed to building a strong community for all firefighters. CSFA has worked at the state level since 1922 offering a strong voice with legislators who vote on benefits, working conditions and public safety issues.

“I’m proud and honored to be endorsed by the men & women who protect and serve a majority of the communities in the 22nd senate district and Los Angeles County as a whole.” Eng said. “Neighborhood safety and resources for our first responders has always been a top priority to me as a lawmaker, educator and City Councilmember. Having the support of our local firefighters means a lot to me personally,” Eng concluded.

Mike Eng is also endorsed by California Professional Firefighters, CAL FIRE Local 2881, LA County Firefighters Local 1014, Alhambra Firefighters Association, Arcadia Firefighters Association, Monterey Park Firefighters Association, West Covina Firefighters Association, and the San Gabriel Firefighters Association.

Mike’s campaign for State Senate had a resounding 19-point margin and placed first on June 5th 2018 primary election, with over 45% of the vote. Mike has continued to build momentum after the primary by earning endorsements of the Mexican American Bar Association PAC, from former Senate Candidate and Baldwin Park Councilwoman Monica Garcia, who joined other major endorsers such as Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, the California National Organization for Women, California Federation of Labor, and the California Democratic Party. All of the best-known District leaders – including incumbent Senator Ed Hernandez (who is a candidate for Lieutenant Governor), Supervisors Hilda Solis and Kathryn Barger, Congressmembers Judy Chu and Grace Napolitano and Assemblymember Ed Chau – are supporting Mike.
