SERGIO CONTRERAS EARNS BACKING OF OC DEM PARTY IN SUPERVISOR BID

Westminster Councilman Sergio Contreras Secures Powerful Support from Democratic Party of Orange County in Campaign for Orange County Board of Supervisors

WESTMINSTER, CA — In a momentous development that reflects his wide-ranging support from Democratic activists, today Westminster City Councilmember Sergio Contreras garnered the endorsement of the Democratic Party of Orange County in the race for Orange County Board of Supervisors District 1.

DPOC Chair Ada Briceño released the following statement with the announced endorsement:

“The Democratic Party of Orange County is thrilled to endorse Sergio Contreras for Supervisor. Sergio has been a positive force for the city of Westminster and a fighter for working familes throughout his life. From his experience as a restaurant employee, to his work at the United Way and as a local school board member and city councilmember, Sergio has tirelessly advocated for a fairer economy that works for everyone. Sergio has the background, skill-set and bold vision needed to move Orange County forward, and that he is the best candidate to fight for our shared values on the Board of Supervisors. We look forward to helping get him elected.”

Last week, Contreras earned the coveted endorsement of U.S. Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, and announced that his campaign has raised more than $100,000. Contreras leads the field of candidates in endorsements and fundraising by a wide margin, demonstrating that he has strong, broad-based support and is far and away the strongest candidate to flip the seat.
