Statement by Supervisor Ridley-Thomas on the Autopsy Release of Andres Guardado

Los Angeles, CA (July 10, 2020) – Los Angeles county Supervisor released statement on the Autopsy Release of Andres Guardado.

“I commend the Coroner for upholding the autonomy and integrity of his office by releasing the autopsy report of Andres Guardado, despite attempts to block its release. It underscores the critical need for the Office of Inspector General (OIG) to be able to conduct its fair and legally mandated independent investigation into this matter without interference. The fact that the Inspector General still has not received documents pertaining to the investigation that were requested over two weeks ago is deeply troubling. The community deserves to know the facts. This is a matter of public interest and public trust.”
