CALIFORNIA FEDERATION OF TEACHERS ENDORSES MIKE ENG FOR STATE SENATE

EL MONTE, CAThe California Federation of Teachers (CFT), representing over 120,000 educators throughout California, has endorsed Democrat and College Teacher Mike Eng for the open 22nd State Senate District.  CFT is one of the largest and most influential teachers’ groups in the state, and they join an impressive list of other educators, school board members, and parents in selecting Mike as their choice to represent our students in Sacramento.

“Mike has always been committed to ensuring our students succeed and has always stood side by side with teachers and classified staff fighting for the resources we need to get our important work done,” says CFT President Josh Pechthalt. “That is why he is our ideal choice for State Senate in the 22nd District.”

“All I know is that if it had not been for the support and work of great teachers as I was growing up, I wouldn’t have the opportunities I do today” added Eng, “I am honored to have the endorsement of the California Federation of Teachers and I look forward to joining with them in Sacramento to fight for our students.”

Mike’s campaign for State Senate has gathered a huge amount of momentum lately with major endorsements from the California Teachers Association and major organizations including the California Labor Federation and the California Democratic Party. All of the best-known District leaders – including incumbent Senator Ed Hernandez, Supervisors Hilda Solis and Kathryn Barger, Congressmembers Judy Chu and Grace Napolitano and Assemblymember Ed Chau – are supporting Mike.

Mike Eng previously served in the State Assembly, on the L.A. Community College District Board of Trustees, and on the Monterey Park City Council.
