15 Additional Local Elected Officials Endorse Mike Eng for State Senate

EL MONTE, CA — Democratic State Senate candidate Mike Eng announced a list of additional local elected leaders who have joined a broad, diverse coalition of local officials who support his campaign for State Senate. Mike, an experienced educator, attorney and public servant, is running to succeed Senator Ed Hernandez in the San Gabriel Valley’s 22nd District. Mike is dominating the contest for local support and is the only candidate that has over 100 local mayors, councilmembers, and school board members from cities throughout the San Gabriel Valley’s 22nd State Senate district.

The newly announced officials were:

Baldwin Park Mayor Manuel Lozano

Baldwin Park Councilwoman Monica Garcia

Covina Mayor Walt Allen III

Covina Councilmember John King

Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer

Duarte Mayor John Fasana

Duarte Councilmember Tzeitel Paras-Caracci

Duarte Councilmember Margaret Finlay

Charter Oak School Board Member Brian Akers

Charter Oak School Board Member Greg Peterson

Garvey School Board Member Keilley Meng

Rio Hondo Community College Trustee Vicky Santana

Rio Hondo Community College Trustee Mary Ann Pacheco

Sierra Madre Councilmember Rachelle Arizmendi

Mike’s finished the primary with a nearly 20-point margin with over 45% of the vote. The post-primary momentum has earned Mike the endorsements from former Senate candidate and Councilwoman Monica Garcia who joined Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, the California National Organization for Women, California Federation of Labor, the California Democratic Party, and the vast majority of local elected officials from communities within the 22nd State Senate District. All of the best-known District leaders – including incumbent Senator Ed Hernandez, Supervisors Hilda Solis and Kathryn Barger, Congressmembers Judy Chu and Grace Napolitano and Assemblymember Ed Chau – are supporting Mike.

Mike Eng previously served in the State Assembly, on the L.A. Community College District Board of Trustees, and on the Monterey Park City Council.
